About Us:
John Yelland
Mark Krige
John started flyfishing as an eight year old with his father and an old split cane rod! He has now been fishing for over fifty years all over southern Africa for fresh and saltwater species. He has cast a fly in a couple of rivers in the USA and UK, but still has a wish list as long as your arm - New Zealand, South America and Cuba top the list!
John moved to Cape Town twenty years ago and opened Upstream Flyfishing. He is passionate about all things flyfishing as well as the great outdoors! He considers himself a latent ‘bush person’ as it was only in his late thirties that he started really travelling around Africa and appreciating Africa at its best.
He was a Durban boy and is definitely a Sharks fan!
Mark started fishing about thirty years ago and hasn't stopped for more than a few days at a time since. He is a keen fly tyer who likes to experiment with new materials and patterns and more than anything likes to chase all kinds of fish on his Sage 000-weight rod.
Mark coaches the SA Youth Flyfishing team and in his free time goes fishing with his wife Heleen, herself a keen and talented flyfishergal.
